Photos, edits and projects
When you choose photos in Android’s photo picker, MaxPhoto reads the selected items to edit them. The app keeps its working photo copies, edit instructions, masks, collage projects and previews in private app storage on your device. You can save finished images to your device’s media library or share them using Android’s sharing tools.
MaxPhoto does not upload photo pixels, project contents, text layers or exported images to a MaxPhoto server. Photo editing and rendering happen on your device. Projects and original photo copies are removed when you delete the related project or clear/uninstall the app, subject to normal device storage behavior. Android app backup and device transfer are disabled for MaxPhoto app data.
There is no MaxPhoto account or sign-in. The app does not ask for access to your whole photo library: you select the photos to use through Android’s photo picker.
Usage analytics
Firebase Analytics is enabled by default in the current app. You can switch it off in MaxPhoto Settings; when off, the app asks Firebase Analytics to stop collecting future analytics for this installation. The setting is stored on your device.
When enabled, Google’s Firebase Analytics SDK may collect app usage events and SDK-generated app or device identifiers. MaxPhoto’s custom events are limited to app actions and a small set of values such as an editing tool, export format or collage photo count. The custom event interface does not include your name, project title, photo URI or file path, image pixels, image metadata or text you add to a photo. The Firebase SDK may also collect events and information automatically as described by Google.
Google processes information for Firebase Analytics under its own terms and privacy disclosures. We do not set a specific retention period here; retention is controlled by the Firebase/Google Analytics service configuration and applicable Google policies. Turning analytics off stops future collection from the app after the change takes effect; it does not itself delete information already received by Google.
Automatic subject selection
MaxPhoto uses Google ML Kit Subject Segmentation to help select a person or subject for effects. Google says that ML Kit processes the input image and result on-device and does not send that image data or result to Google’s servers. The SDK may contact Google servers for model updates or hardware compatibility information and sends metrics about API performance and use.
Google’s published ML Kit Android disclosure describes diagnostic and usage metrics that can include device and app information, identifiers, performance measurements, API configuration such as image format and resolution, input/output sizes, feature version, event types and error codes. Google says these metrics are encrypted in transit and are not transferred to third parties. These ML Kit metrics are separate from the Usage analytics setting in MaxPhoto; turning that setting off does not disable ML Kit diagnostics. Subject selection may require a model download through Google Play services before it is available.
Product update notifications
Product Updates are off by default. If you enable them in app Settings, MaxPhoto uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to subscribe this app installation to a general product-updates topic and may receive occasional announcements. Firebase may create and use an installation identifier or messaging token to deliver messages. MaxPhoto does not put your photos or project details in these messages.
You can switch Product Updates off in app Settings to unsubscribe and stop future registration. On Android 13 and later, the app also asks for notification permission only after you choose to enable updates. You can manage that permission in Android settings. Firebase describes its processing and retention of Firebase Installation IDs in its privacy documentation.
This website
This is a static information website hosted by Firebase Hosting. It does not use advertising, analytics scripts, embedded third-party media or a contact form. If you follow an external link or email us, the destination service’s privacy practices apply.
When your browser requests a page, Firebase Hosting receives technical request information, including IP addresses. Google says Hosting uses IP addresses to help detect abuse and provide service usage information, and retains IP data for a few months. Firebase services may process information on Google infrastructure in different locations. See Firebase privacy and security for Google’s current service details.
This website does not set cookies or store information in your browser for analytics or advertising.
Your choices and requests
You control which photos you select. You can remove saved projects in the app, switch off Usage analytics, and switch off Product Updates in Settings. You can also revoke notification permission in Android settings. Removing a local project does not delete analytics or diagnostic information already sent to Google; those records are handled under Google’s policies and service controls.
For questions or a privacy request related to MaxPhoto, contact us using the address below. We may need enough information to understand and respond to your request; do not email photos or other sensitive content unless we ask for it.
Children’s privacy
MaxPhoto is a general photo-editing app and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us directly, please contact us so we can review the request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or its services change. The effective date at the top shows when this page was last revised. Material changes will be reflected here.
